Introduction
I am an independent pit bull rescuer originally from California. I am now located in San Antonio, TX as of July 2011. I have been rescuing & rehabbing ( from physical abuse and/or mental/emotional abuse ) dogs since I adopted my first pit bull puppy over 20 yrs ago. In Smokey We Trust was named after one of my rescues "Smokey", rescued at 3 mos in 2009 from Kern County Animal Control after having severe acid burns. With such abuse he went through Smokey has friends & fans worldwide. He has melted the hearts of many & has changed the minds of many people. Smokey was rescued and now has his forever home with me. He is continuing his CGC Training & Therapy Training to help people as well as help rehabilitate other dogs. Since moving to Texas my new goal is to not only rescue but also to Unchain dogs and build fences, replace water bowls, food dishes, vet care for the dogs that need care/treatment. Funds and volunteers are much needed for this endeavor. Some dogs I have seen on chains are on chains 3-5 ft long, barely able to move, in extreme weather conditions. MONETARY DONATIONS ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED. Funds for fence supplies, water/food dishes, vet treatment. OTHER DONATIONS NEEDED: leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, pet store gift cards & misc items. Foster homes are also needed for dogs that will be rescued either from shelter situations or being broke free from the chains that bind them & relinquished by owners so they can have the life they so deserve.
CHIP IN
I have raised the chip in amount and set it high & also set the date for a August 2012 so this will be an on going chip in.
Just Moved to Texas and There Are Chained Dogs Everywhere--
This is an attempt to raise money for a hound that doesnt have any shelter accept for the trough that it huddles against--through storms and the heat ( triple digits ) on about a 5 ft chain..

Also to purchase dog food, water bowls etc for the other 3 chained dogs & a dog house for them too......as well as some strays out here..

I only have a picture of the hound, look closely and you can see its brown head..

For my own safety I am not able to take photos of the other dogs but will do so when the situation allows me too....
