Tulip My Potbelly Piglet
I rescued Tulip in Nov. 2011. She is now a little over a yr old. When I got her she was very skinny, too skinny. She was not being fed well due to the people wanting to keep her small believing that *mini* potbelly pigs will stay 20 lbs.

In the process of doing this to her it has caused her harm. Her bones & joints didnt get the proper nutrition therefore causing severe arthritis in all of her joints.

She also had an infection throughout her body, for an unknown amount of time--it was only discovered when I took her to the vet. She was put on antibiotics which I injected every day.

She was given anti inflammatory medications for the arthritis which brought some relief ( temporarily ).

Some relief had been found but it appears to be only temporary. There are many days she will not go down her ramp to go outside & she can no longer go up 2 steps or go up the ramp into the house & at some points she is not eating, so I bottle feed her cereal or she will eat it out of her dish...Now a new method is to inject her with adequan injections & after that series put her on prednisone.

Each injection is $80-$100.00 per vile. Cost of approx $500.00 for 5 injections.

Plus supplements that will be needed of glucosamine, Chondroitin which is in GLC Direct ( used for horses ) & freshly ground flax seed & equine senior horse pellet.

This is my final option to help my sweet little piglet. If this option does not work & she is in pain I will let her go & humanely EU her. I have to try to exhaust all options.

She is otherwise a very sweet & happy pig & I really hate the thought of having to put her down. It breaks my heart & hoping the options above will help her...

Thank you in advance...
